ABOUT

Brent Barbano is an award-winning cinematographer and entrepreneur. Born and raised in Syracuse, NY, he graduated from Syracuse University and is currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Since 2007, Brent has specialized in commercial, narrative, and documentary content in over 40 states and 30 countries.

Brent has worked on a countless number of features, tv shows and commercials for the likes of Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Studios, NBC Universal, Disney, Warner Bros, IFC Films, Village Roadshow Pictures and many more. Spanning successes from the Emmy’s, to Sundance and the Telly Awards, most of his work has seen not only domestic but international recognition and syndication. Regardless of the genre and outlet, Brent’s secret ingredient has always remained; bringing a sense of humanity to every image he creates and doing so in a familiar yet impactful way.

In 2013, Brent co-founded ShareGrid, an online marketplace where verified filmmakers and creatives can rent/buy equipment and resources with integrated insurance. ShareGrid soon went nationwide and amassed over 150,000 members and nearly $1 billion worth of inventory. After revolutionizing the equipment space in the film industry, ShareGrid was acquired by Backstage in 2021.

Since jumping back into freelancing, Brent joined forces with long-time collaborators and co-founded, Denim Pictures, a full-service production company specializing in commercials, branded content, documentaries and emerging digital content.

Brent is also a proud member of IATSE Local 600 International Cinematographers Guild and loves advising various businesses and startups in the creative space. In his free time, he enjoys obsessing over good coffee, cloudy days, impromptu road trips, and anything having to do with his hometown Syracuse and alma mater, Syracuse University.
